This compact, expandable case is the smallest of our wheeled carry-on designs. It is ideal for shorter, overnight trips and travel within Europe and Asia. Made from Tumi's signature ballistic nylon, it features a removable garment sleeve and accessories pockets. The main compartment expands 2.5 inches.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

The Only "Legal" Tumi Alpha
This is the only Tumi Alpha Carry-on that meets both the 22x14x9" and the 45 linear inch limits used by most domestic airline. For many years, Tumi advertised their bags by the internal dimensions while the airlines go by external dimensions. They have recently updated the Tumi site to show the external dimensions as airlines get tougher with carry-on restrictions and customers return bags that get force checked. While the airlines will usually let you board with larger bags, you never know when you might be forced to check them. This bag holds almost as much as my old Alpha 22922 and makes for much less stressful boardings. Note that the Tumi Alpha "Continental" which is often pushed as a legal alternative is wider than the max allowed by many airlines and also exceeds the 45" L+W+D limit of others.
My only complaint with this model is that it does not include hangers. Tumi does sell a nice set on their site, but at this price I would expect them to be included. Some have...

Would take off a star for how expensive it is but......
......but it is a great bag especially if you're flying Delta. Delta has this tacky Size Wise box and every so often they go on a tear and make everybody put their bag in the box to see if it conforms to their ideal 22x14x9. Very few rollaboards will meet this because either the wheels or the handles will protrude just enough to catch on the box. This one is sized perfectly, the wheels roll effortlessly and the interior is not overly encroached upon by the support bar like some bags.
It's amazing how much you can fit in this bag. I take this and a tote bag as my only luggage on a 2 week trip to Europe and don't have to check anything.
My only complaint is that the outside top pocket appears to be a short pocket that you can slide a boarding pass or cell phone in. Problem is, the pocket extends all the way to the bottem of the bag and you have to go "fishing" for whatever you put in there. It's not connected to the larger outer pocket, but still it would be nice...
Does what I pay it to do.
I clock a tremendous number of air miles each month due to my job. As I am not home all that much these days, I almost literally live out of my suitcase. I purchased this Tumi about seven months ago and I cannot (I don't think) have made a better choice. I am out for two and three weeks at a time, more often than not out of the U.S. and this case has done the job for me.
I try to travel as light as possible, but even if I did not and tried to haul everything but the cats, this bag would, along with my ever present tote, due quite well. As it is, it is more than adequate for my needs.
I am quite hard on items such as this and must tell you that this suitcase has held up very, very well with the beating I have put it through. I, like a couple of other reviewers here have had a bit of a problem from time to time with the handle sticking. I have found that if I talk to it sternly, using only minimal foul language and curses, that it eventually works just...
